A SHort history of wstec
serving the community for three decades
WSTEC has been involved in education in the community in its various incarnations for over thirty years in the Western Suburbs of Sydney. Our philosophy is, and always has been, that everybody deserves a ‘fair go’ and an opportunity to get ahead in life, no matter where they come from.
Funded by NSW State Government grants, WSTEC is a Not-For-Profit Organisation governed by a community committee. It is also a registered charity. It provides employment, as well as educational opportunities that help to solve problems in the local community. WSTEC is also a member of the local Chamber of Commerce. The CEO is a full member of the Aboriginal Education Consultative Group and is a Professional Member of the Institute for Learning Professionals Australasia.
Although we are based in Whalan, NSW, we have a branch in McGraths Hill, NSW and are preparing to outreach to Penrith and Blacktown Local Government Areas in 2019.
